GAF Roof Replacement & Gutter Installation in Louisville, CO – Hail Damaged Roof Leak

Project Summary

WestPro completed a full roof and gutter replacement on this Louisville, CO home in September 2025. The Problem

When Paul first contacted us, he was dealing with an active leak in his kitchen following heavy rain. He needed immediate attention to stop water from entering his home while we evaluated the broader condition of the exterior.

Our inspection revealed that the roof, last replaced in 2006, had sustained hail damage across the shingles and gutters. The existing materials had simply reached the end of their useful life, making a full replacement the only way to restore proper protection.

Why It Needed Replacing

A simple patch would not have addressed the widespread hail damage or the age of the existing materials. Replacing the entire roof allowed us to install new impact-resistant shingles and bring the underlayment and flashing up to current standards for long-term durability.

What We Did

We began the project by removing the old roofing materials and replacing damaged roof decking with new OSB where the old sheathing was compromised. Our team then installed a comprehensive underlayment system to protect the home, using MuleHide Base Sheet and MuleHide Cap Sheet in Slate across the roof surface. For added protection against water intrusion, we applied GAF WeatherWatch Leak Barrier and IKO Stormshield Ice & Water Barrier in critical areas.

The roof was covered with GAF Timberline ArmorShield II Slate shingles, which are Class 4 impact-resistant, along with GAF Pro-Start Starter Strip at the eaves. We finished the peak with GAF Seal-A-Ridge AS Slate ridge cap. As part of the additional scope, our crew installed new drip edge along the eaves and rakes, new step flashing, new chimney flashing, new pipe jack flashing, and new roof vents. We also installed a 5-inch Seamless Aluminum Gutter System to complete the exterior upgrade.
